Lighting primer

As the pedants amongst us like to point out, cameras don’t “see,” they just receive light reflected from a surface. This subtle distinction highlights why illumination is such a big part of getting a vision system to run reliably.

But I don’t need to say any more on the subject because Daryl Martin of
Advanced Illumination has written what may be the definitive introductory guide. I’m linking to Part I, but be sure to read Parts II and III as well.
