No, I’m talking about neither stocks nor house prices. I’m referring to the price of industrial, machine vision cameras. I just checked at The Imaging Source, and found I can buy a VGA resolution (that’s 640 by 480 pixels) Firewire camera for under $300.
Now that’s pretty amazing.
And while browsing, I spent a few minutes on their machine vision blog. They publish a lot of good technical info on cameras and imaging: this short post on the differences between USB and Firewire cameras is a good example, and one that I think should be of interest to most machine vision people.
