Here’s an interesting, if Cognex oriented, blog about machine vision. I particularly liked the picture of the first Cognex product, the 1982 DataMan. It’s a reminder that, while we’ve come a long way, the journey has been difficult and progress has perhaps been slower than was expected back then.
The blog comes courtesy of “Smart Sensors” who are based in Australia. Also on their web site is a funky little Cognex Checker video. It’s a nice reminder that multiple, easy to configure sensors can be a ‘smarter’ solution than a more sophisticated vision system.
