Staying current with advances in machine vision

Technology never stands still, so it’s important to keep reading and learning. In the machine vision world this means browsing the web to see what’s new. Unfortunately though, there aren’t many sites that give independent, unvarnished advice (apart from this one, of course!) One of the better ‘portals’ is ‘Inspect-online’, part of the Wiley stable of publications.

It’s a German site, but with an English language option for all us non-linguists, and it covers both product and company news, as well as providing some good technical articles. You’ll need to register to get to the really juicy content, but I think the quality justifies taking a minute or so to complete the form. Once in you’ll be able to read up on topics ranging from optics to algorithms, with a smattering of industry views as well. Not a bad place to spend a few minutes while sipping that fresh mug of coffee.
