“I love work. I can watch it all day,” or so said Oscar Wilde. He could have been talking about watching robots at work; something I find fascinating. When you see machines picking and placing at high speed it’s hard to avoid thinking there’s some intelligence buried inside the hardware.
This movie from Fanuc shows what I mean. Two parallel kinematic robots with vision guidance assemble and disassemble keyboards at high speed. It’s like watching ants at work. If you’re not fascinated you can’t be an engineer.
