I hope you’ll be able to enjoy a few days away from work over the holiday season, but if you should find yourself hankering for a machine vision fix why not do a little reading on the subject?
I recommend browsing the Dalsa “Knowledge Center.” You’ll find articles ranging in depth from easy-to-read press releases to heavy going research papers, all of which address some of the challenges we face in machine vision.
To give you a flavor, I’ve picked a few titles at random:
From the Research papers section, there’s “Analysis of Near-Field Diffraction Effects on CCD Resolution.” Under “Application Notes and Technology Primers” I found “When is Color Required by Machine Vision,” and under “Industry Articles” I unearthed “Making the move from analog to digital,” first published in Nasa Tech Briefs back in January 2009.
You will have to register to get access to the papers but don’t let that put you off. I have never had a Dalsa salesperson call me.
