Here’s an interesting opportunity for a machine vision entrepreneur based in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Denmark or Sweden: PPT, makers of IMPACT software and hardware, are looking for partners. Specifically, “Our criteria is Machine vision experience, you do not sell a competitive product, integration capabilities ( machine building capabilities would be great but not required) Have or are willing to hire / train an internal machine vision engineer, willing to purchase a demo system, have a growth plan for machine vision business.”
IMPACT is an interesting set of products. I like the software (which is available for evaluation on their website, www.pptvision.com,) although my experience was that it does take a while to get up to speed. They also have a range of IMPACT smart cameras, which again are quite a solid offering, so the chance to be a PPT integrator sounds attractive.
What’s the catch then? Is it this “…willing to purchase a demo system…”?
In fairness, I think this is a common practice throughout the machine vision industry. I guess it’s true that you have to speculate to accumulate.
