Learn how cameras really work

Mrs. Grey says she doesn’t need to know what goes on beneath the hood of her car in order to operate it effectively. Now while that may be true, I believe an understanding of the inner workings of any device helps with maximizing its performance. So with that in mind, I’d like to share a couple of videos about CCD and CMOS sensors.

If you found those interesting you should visit the creator’s website. Blake Charles Jacquot of ambientelectronics.org. Blake is putting together a series of educational electronics videos, which include a whole series on image sensors. They’re reasonably short and well-produced: it’s the kind of thing you can dip into while sipping a mug of hot coffee. Do that once a day and you’ll learn a whole lot about what goes on beneath the hood of your camera.
