despite the increased specialization of undergraduate programs, it
appears that no university yet offers a degree in machine vision.
Yes,
you can study image processing and computer vision, but that doesn’t
teach how to implement machine vision. I agree with Andy: this is a
field that ought to be addressed by universities seeking to equip
young people with the skills necessary to make a difference. And
given the growth of vision into the agricultural and automotive
worlds, it would seem there’s no shortage of demand for such
graduates.
