From R&D mag, (yet again,) comes what may the prototype of a true 3D camera.
3D is a very active field, but my impression is that none of the techniques under development offer the potential for affordable 3D. If the claimed biometric applications are every to be realized the camera/sensors will need to be no more expensive than a regular camera. My guess is that pricing will need to be under $1,000 for the technology to find broad application.
