More on Soliton

A few days ago I talked about an integration company called Soliton (search for “Can Vision jobs be outsourced?” if this link doesn’t work.)

Well here’s some more on Soliton – a link to a
movie showing a pencil sorting system they’ve put together. There’s no commentary but as best I can tell it’s a moderately high-speed color sorting system running a LabVIEW-based image capture and analysis program. The movie’s quite interesting, if inspection machinery is your thing.

Well, yes, the pencil sorting system was designed to help sort and remove 10 types of end defects from pencils at rates of over 20 pencils per second. We have however shifted our focus from turnkey systems to machine vision components.
