I found this job ad interesting. It’s for an “Applications Engineer – Vision Systems” for a “packaging solutions provider” (doesn’t everyone provide “solutions” these days?) based in the north of England. What really caught my eye was the salary being offered – up to 40,000 pounds a year (about $80,000). That would be a good salary in the US, but before all you vision experts in Minnesota and elsewhere submit your resumes, remember that your British compatriot will be handing over a much larger share of his earning in taxes than you do.

Note also that the EU is about as welcoming to people from outside its borders as is the US.
