Interesting Web Inspection System

For the uninitiated, a web is a continuous strip or coil of material, and it’s commonly inspected with a linescan camera. Web systems tend to be expensive – like 6 figures expensive – so I was intrigued by this video for a low cost web system.

It’s from a company in California called Webview Inc. From what I read on their web site, they’ve put together a “smart” linescan camera for “under $8,000.” Now we all know not to judge a product by its’ advertising blurb, so until I get my hands on one of these babies I shall avoid passing any comment. Let’s just say that it looks interesting.
