Fun machine vision project

Believe it or not, some people find machine vision so interesting they work on it in their own time, for fun! Generally these people are electronics hobbyists who want to put “eyes” on their home robot. I’m not sure there’s much industrial application of what they’re doing, but its fun to see how they approach what is essentially a vision guided robotics (VGR) problem.

To see what one particularly creative robot techie is up to, take a look at “
Open Source Machine Vision Object Detection and Ranging” on the “Let’s Make Robots!” blog.
