There’s a lot of concern that the current “downturn” in manufacturing activity will result in a smaller market for machine vision. Well to counter that I’d like to share a very positive message recently put out by Mark Tomlinson, Executive Director of the Society of manufacturing Engineers.
In “American manufacturing is hardly on the rocks,” published in the Pittsburg Post-Gazette 12/30/08, Mark discusses how there’s much more to manufacturing industry than building cars, and highlights a number of technology areas that hold promise for the future.
