- Make sure you’re running in 32 bit mode and not 64.
- Make sure you’re logged on with Administrator rights
- When you install the InSight software, create a dedicated InSight directory rather than accepting the default ‘Program File’ location. This seems to be the big mistake that most Vista users make. Apparently Vista doesn’t like users writing to the Program Files folder.

InSight and Windows Vista
As Windows 7 is due for release this will soon become a non-issue, but I think it’s still worth sharing some tips I picked up from the Cognex/DVT Smartlist forum.
