Glossary of optics terminology

Unless you’re a keen photographer (a useful attribute for any machine vision engineer,) terms like “F stop” and “Numerical Aperture” might as well be written in Greek for all the sense they make. But if you’re eager to learn more about optics you might find the Glossary published on the Moritex website useful. (Note that you really need to download the pdf at the bottom of the page.)

While you’re on the Moritex site, take a look at their various product offerings. I tend to think of them only as a halogen/fiber-optic light vendor, but as you’ll see, they do far more than that.
