More agri-machine vision

Returning to a by-now familiar theme, agriculture presents a huge market for machine vision, and Andy Wilson has a great application story for us, “Robots and vision pack lettuces.” (Machine vision and image processing blog, April 9th, 2010.)

Andy does a good job of summarizing how vision combined with weighing is used to estimate lettuce density, but the real meat (if we can use that word in relation to lettuce,) is in the Fanuc press release “Robots cut lettuce labor issue,” which is also where the above photo comes from.
