Learning from an expert

When you’re the only vision “expert” on site, (and “expert” just means that you know more than anyone else,) it’s difficult to get advice. Magazine articles, white papers and so on all tend to skip over the details of how an application was written, leaving a gap between camera and lighting setup and inspection result.

The good people at PPT Vision are doing their bit to rectify this problem. They are posting application details on their blog. These show how to use the various vision tools to carry out a particular inspection. Obviously, they only use the PPT vision tools in their IMPACT software, but let’s be honest, a blob tool is a blob tool, no matter who’s software it’s implemented in. In other words, there’s something for everyone to learn from, so take a look: http://blog.pptvision.com/
