Why should I write about you?

In the years I’ve been running this blog many companies have asked to add me to their email lists. As a result, I receive lots of announcements about new cameras, improved lights and other paraphernalia. Now much as I find them interesting, I rarely want to share them with my audience.

Why?” I hear you asking, “Isn’t it great news that we now offer a 6.3 megapixel version of our GT45007-B/M camera with integrated polarization disallowance?”

Well of course it is, but it’s unlikely to make the difference between someone getting a successful vision project under their belt or being fired for adding yet another boat anchor to the growing collection stashed away in the storage barn waiting for depreciation to do its work.

What this blog is about, despite my occasional diversion, is solving machine vision problems. That’s what I hope provides value for my readers: I want to give them ideas for how to be more successful with machine vision.

So if you’d like me to blog about your latest-and-greatest, tell me how it solved a problem. Give me an application story rather than a spec sheet and maybe I’ll give you a free plug* in return.

* Not an electrical plug – I mean an unpaid endorsement – just to be clear.

I'd like to have an "Machine Vision 4 Users" branded electrical plug :)
