Time was, I’d never miss an opportunity to criticize Banner’s web site for the way in which they hid and dispersed all mention of the vision products. Well I’m pleased to say that the latest incarnation is very much improved. The whole site now has a very clean appearance and it takes only one click to go straight to the vision products.

By-the-way, while I’m praising the web site let me take a moment to praise the products too. I’ve long been a fan of the PresencePlus range, and the P4 Omni in particular, which I think is a great, and well-priced, product. What I like in particular are the ease of use and very short learning curve.
I’ve used the Omni several times, and in addition to being able to develop an application quickly I’ve also been able to turn technicians into competent users in just a few hours. I know the range of tools provided is limited, but you get what you pay for. If you need geometric pattern matching go shopping for a higher-end product, but for the money (around $2,000,) this is a great product.
